Table B'hôte's Chilli Sauces come in 3 varieties - Mild, Medium, and Hot - complete with extra chunky vegetables, special spices, and of course an irresistable taste!
Our sauces are steamed, which maintains the colour, taste and texture of the ingredients. Gluten free, suitable for vegetarians, and containing no additives, artificial colourings or flavourings, and in 3 different strengths there's a chili pepper sauce here for everyone! The home cooked taste of Table B'hôte is also very convenient for busy people and families. Ready in 15 minutes, the good size 550 gram jar will feed a hungry family and kids will love it! There are also many uses for our Chilli sauces. Chilli is traditionally served with mince, accompanied by rice, but try the mild chilli as a sausage casserole base, oven prepared, or heat the sauce and pour over a jacket potato. Where it all started...The idea that a manager of an opticians could produce a saleable Chilli Sauce was perhaps a little far fetched, but I couldn't get it out of my head. I decided help was needed from my dear friend Georgie, a fine cook in her own right. Together we wrote and re-wrote recipes, prepared the dishes, added ingredients, took them out, replaced and reviewed. Eventually, the Chilli was brilliant. After preparing the chilli sauces several times to the same recipe and gaining the same quality results, it was time to source a manufacturer. Tim was a self adhesive label printer, and one of his customers was - you've guessed it - a cooking sauce manufacturer. We had tried his sauces, and found them a real cut above other commercial jars. We contacted him about our quest and he was delighted to meet with us. One very rainy Sunday morning, we arrived at his workplace, clutching my jar of chilli. After the preliminary pleasantries, the moment of truth. He took the lid off the jar, sampled my sauce (I sat looking at him with eyes like saucers), he smiled and said 'that is the best chilli sauce that I have ever tasted'! It was a winning the lottery moment. We agreed to an initial order of 300 jars and away we went. It was decided to split the strengths into three, mild, medium and hot, to suit all tastes. The labels were the easy part due to Tim's input, however, we had to decide on a logo to connect the sauce to the sailing and the chilli shaped sailing boat is perfect.
