Home Gourmet Sauces Creamy Mustard & Cider

Creamy Mustard & Cider Sauce

This sauce has always been a family favourite and we decided to add it to the Table B'hôte range. An indulgent, luxury sauce containing double cream, apple, celery, mushroom and onion, and of course the main ingredients - mustard and cider!

A versatile sauce, creamy mustard and cider is great with pork, chicken, sausage or fish. As with all other sauces in our range, ingredients are steamed to retain vegetable shape, flavour, and crunchy texture - all packed into a new 400 gram jar size.

Low in salt and sugar, certified gluten free and containing no artificial colourings or flavourings, the home cooked taste of Table B'hôte is also very convenient for busy people and families. Ready in 15 minutes and packed with vegetables you can feed a hungry family and kids will love it!

Please note that creamy mustard and cider is not suitable for vegetarians (unlike the other sauces in our range), due to the inclusion of chicken bouillon.

Creamy Mustard & Cider - The Facts!

Regular readers of my blog will understand my passion for Table B'hote Sauces, the quality ingredients, the natural taste, but mostly the 'free from' aspect of the manufacturing process. Let me explain further!

When blending ingredients together to create a sauce, I research each item to ensure they are free from additives, colours, preservatives, gluten and wheat. Obviously, taste and texture have to be considered, along with keeping the salt and sugar content as low as possible.

During the creation of Creamy Mustard & Cider sauce, it was clear that a preservative was needed due to the mix of ingredients. Potassium Sorbate has no known side effects, nor would it affect the taste or texture.

The next hurdle was the appearance. The sauce looked a little dull in the jar and I am sure some of the commercially known sauce makers would have been tempted to add artificial colour. BUT NOT ME. The sauce tastes devine which is most important, and best of all, remains free from colour. Forgive my rambling explanation. I just wanted to let you, my customers, know that much thought and planning go into creating our gourmet range of sauces.
