Chicken Pie Made Easy

Written by Linda Berry

As the nights are drawing in and getting colder, I thought you might like to try this trusty recipe using Creamy Mustard & Cider sauce.  Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees/gas mark 7.   Brown 3/4lb of diced chicken thighs in a little oil (about 10 minutes over a medium heat), stirring all the time.  When cooked, place in a shallow pie dish and pour over a jar of Creamy Mustard & Cider sauce.  Roll out puff pastry to fit the dish (buy it ready made), and cut 2 slits in the pastry top, crimp the edges and brush with a little beaten egg.  Place in the centre of the oven and bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.  Serve with new potatoes and glazed carrots.  There should be happy faces all round.  Please let me know how you find this recipe and if you want more.  Linda x

Met Nathan Outlaw yesterday.  He is such a kind chap.  He tried my Chilli and commented 'It's simple and it works'.  Music to my ears.  Needless to say, he took a couple of jars home.  Thanks Nathan.

Lesley Waters

What a lovely day at Goose Slade Farm Shop.  Lots of fun, sunshine and support.  Crowds of people turned up to enjoy the many events including pony rides, cream teas, and, of course, food tasting.  Imagine my surprise when I recognised 'Jim' from the Vicar of Dibley.  He and his wife were lovely and they really enjoyed trying Table B'hote sauces.  I was in for another surprise when I met celebrity chef, Lesley Waters, one of my all time heroes.  She tried my Chilli and said it was 'brilliant'.  Not usually stuck for words, but on this occasion, I was speechless.  All in all, a truly fabulous day.

Mole Valley Farmers tasting day

What a great day!  After an early start from home (6.00am), I set up my demonstation table and the people just kept coming.  The comments were so rewarding and Mole Valley customers were more than happy to buy.  This tasting day was the first of many to be rolled out throughout their stores, and this attracted a selection of Mole Valley executives.  Happily, they loved Table B'hote sauces too, although initially, a little unsettled by my Northern humour.  A fun day all round.  Thanks to Alan and Ian from Hardy's who worked with me all day and gave me great support.  Ian even washed my pans at the end of the day!!!!  Really looking forward to the next Mole Valley tasting day at South Molton on Thursday.

Sweet 'n' Sour Online

Thank you very much for such personal service, it's a real breath of fresh air compared to the usual online shopping experience.

I discovered your wonderful sauces while I was on holiday in Cornwall in May - if memory serves you were at a fair at Godolphin House and my Mum and I tasted the sweet & sour & were instantly smitten! Now we've run out of what we bought from you there so I thought I'd order more online - I honestly don't think I'll ever eat anyone else's sweet & sour again, yours is just too good! The flavour is a perfect balance, I love that there are no additives (the sweet & sour from our local Chinese used to give me a headache) & I adore the crunchy water chestnuts best of all. I can't wait to try the creamy mustard and cider too. Keep up the good work!
Thanks to Rebecca in Maidstone for these lovely words
